The Facebook Sensation: A Social Web Phenomenon
It’s funny how the things that you told your friends, family, or anyone that I will never forget this… In years and years it just becomes a figure of imagination, a mere flashback … how could this happen one ponders… How could I forget that? Well according to the science of forgetting the memory didn’t have as much impact therefore not triggering the hormones and the PTSD to keep it embedded in our head.
For this reason I see the benefits of new social networking or specifically Facebook; It has created a whole new dimension to sharing memories, through tagging, naming the albums, and commenting all that helps us remember these moments that we want to cherish and be reminded of, which ultimately becomes part of our long term memory, part of our stable memory that will get our hormones ecstatic.
If you have been a relatively active Facebook user, look at your older pictures, go through the whole albums you uploaded wouldn’t it make you laugh or smile, reminisce these days. Keep your memories in the right form and keep them dormant, exercise that once in a while so that you would luxuriate in them instead of keeping your fears, losses, or failures in your memory film-strip of life.
